CALM has been providing educational support for over seven years changing the lives of countless of AIDS orphans through schooling and other community projects
It exists to support the growing educational needs of children orphaned as a result of AIDS in Benue State.
There are over 1 million children who have become AIDS orphans, as a result a large majority of children live with grandparents or relatives. When grandparents take on the responsibility they are often mourning the death of their own children and need to spend a large percentage of their little income on funerals.
In all cases grandparents simply do not have the financial means to send their grandchildren to school as they can't afford to buy uniforms, pay for tuition and other attendant requirements which are mandatory for primary school.
Grandparents have dreams for these children; education is the key to providing them with hope of a better life. At CALM we want to help realise these dreams.
